Virtual Design from Florida Tile


Virtual Design provides the ability to design different layouts for the same room quickly and easily, allowing the designer to illustrate for the customer what their installation could look like.  The Designer can use the design tool to show the customer different patterns, products, use of decoratives and even wall color. 

Florida Tile has divided our Virtual Design offering up into five major categories.  They are:

Virtual Design Center - This is an online tool available on www.floridatile.com under "Design Tools".  This tool allows the designer to develop installation designs on eleven rooms and eleven panels.  The designer can select from a variety of patterns, product lines, and combinations of product.  The designer can also tile different surfaces using different patterns and also provide paint for non-tile surfaces to try and give the consumer a vision of what the room could look like.  The designer can print out their design, complete with a graphical list of the tiles selected.  The Virtual Design Center does not require a password. 

Virtual Design ToolKit - The Virtual Design ToolKit is the PC-Based version of the Virtual Design Center.  It offers all of the same features except it will on on the designer's PC without a connection to the internet.  The Windows XP operating system is required for this feature.  New, free, 2004 Virtual Design ToolKit CDs are due out in mid-September.  Please email us here to request one.

Visual Design Studio - Residential  - The Visual Design Studio - Residential goes to the next level in Virtual Design, allowing the designer to save his or her designs under his or her login.  Also, the designer can select a simple room shape from a template, enter in dimensions, and develop a rough estimate of the field tile and decoratives that would be required for the installation.  This rough estimate, the design and a room layout can all be printed out for review with the customer. 

Visual Design Studio - Architectural - The Visual Design - Architectural is similar to the Visual Design Studio - Residential except the room scenes that are featured are of a commercial nature.  The room scenes are actually divided into two groups - "light traffic" and "heavy traffic".  The Virtual Design Studio - Architectural is available online on www.floridatile.com under "Design Tools.  Please email us to request a login.  Please include your name, your email address and your company name on your request.

Design Product Catalog - The Design Product Catalog is an online product catalog that allows interactive queries for where the tile will be used, size, color and type of material.  The Designer can use this feature to determine if a tile is suitable for a particular environment.  The designer can also look at a particular product and then request to a view a room where it is installed.  The Design Product Catalog is available online on www.floridatile.com under "Design Tools" or on the Virtual Design ToolKit.

FTI Announces:

► We want to thank everyone for their patience as we worked through the issues caused by Hurricane Charley.  Everyone in the Florida Tile family survived although some employees have experienced significant damage to their homes.

►Florida Tile and our Florida Tile & Stone Design Studios will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 6,2004.

►   Florida Tile displayed at the ITSS Show, at the Jacob Javitts Center, in New York City. This was the first show that Florida Tile participated in, that catered to a broad audience of architects, designers, development firms, stone and tile dealers. We had a good turn out, with most attendees gravitating to our new through bodied porcelain line, Premium Blend.  Many attendees signed up for subscription to our Commercial Virtual Design Center, and Residential Virtual Design Centers. This was a great show and a great re-introduction of Florida Tile in the commercial market.

► Master Tile is now a full line distributor in Tulsa, Oklahoma, joining Paschal Distributing in that market.  They can be reached at (918) 622-3770 or at 5024 South Mingo Street in Tulsa.

►As pristine and natural looking as its namesake, Florida Tile brings you its latest offering - Appalachian Slate. Ceramic tile with the superb look and movement of natural slate. Four natural colors -Stone Ridge, Warm Summit, Autumn Blend and Copper - Now available in floor and soon to be available in wall tile. The Stone Ridge color has a mica additive bringing out highlights which make this color even more like the natural stone that is derives its name from. Coordinating decorative scroll design wall listellos and corners, plus a large sized decorative floor listello made from actual pieces of tile are available to enhance your installation.

► We have scheduled a "Florida Tile RoadShow" for the Florida Tile & Stone Design Studio in Seattle.  We will be holding events in Bellingham, Everett, Seattle and Tacoma.  If you would like more information on this event, please contact Jeff Bell at jeff.bell@floridatile.com.

► Superior Tile is now a full line distributor in the Memphis, TN market.  Mike Robbins, owner, can be reached at (901) 363-5880 or see him in person at 4027 Senator Street in Memphis.

►Our current source of supply for the Avalon product line is being eliminated. This change is effective immediately. We have several months inventory in color E5701 however we have limited inventory available in color E5730. We regret any inconvenience this might cause.

►Florida Tile was happy to show our latest products at the Carpet One  Summer Convention in Dallas.  We saw a steady stream of customers come through our booth to look at our newest products.
