LEXINGTON KY ⎯ Florida Tile again proves that good things can be made better with the introduction of another high definition, glazed porcelain floor and wall tile line, Mingle HDP, which dissects the classics, Travertine, Marble and Limestone, then mingles them for an all-new look.
In this four-color line, Mingle HDP creates two colors, an Ivory (Warm Winter Mix) and a Grey (Cool Summer Mix) by mixing graphics. The other two colors, are a Bluish Grey (Dry Stream), created using only the Travertine graphics and a warm Beige tone (Soft Rock) created using only the Breccia Marble graphic.
According to Sean Cilona, Florida Tile’s Marketing Director, “The basic definition of the word ‘mingle’ is to mix or bring together in combination, usually without loss of individual characteristics, hence the name. In the case of the new Mingle HDP line, we achieved a new stone concept that uses a combination of multiple stone graphics in the same color.”
“This meant essentially abandoning the conventional concept of what a stone installation needs to look like, then re-imagining and repurposing the look and use of traditional stone.” Cilona said. “Drawing from the classic looks of Travertine, Marble and Limestone we found basic elements that could all work together, regardless of the pattern. We were then able to piece these visual elements back together to create a cohesive new look that both blends in and stands out at the same time.”
Using the strength of Travertine and Breccia Marble, along with a more subdued Limestone, we intricately paired them together in the same tone to create a single color.
Mingle HDP is available in four formats, 12x12, 18x18, and 12x24. The fourth is a new contemporary 6x24 cut from a pre-scored 12x24.
“With a smooth, flat surface and square edge, this stone look achieves its soft touch via the final top glaze “toppa” application that catches the light and adds to the characteristic veining,” Cilona added.
Full trims are available in bullnose, chair rails and chair rail stops as well as an M12 mosaic. Decoratives include two 1.5x12 mosaic listellos and four 6x6 inserts that use a Bronze metallic glaze application over the stone graphics.
According to Cilona, the listellos and inserts feature a mix of 1960s-inspired designs such as Chevron and Starburst which are gaining popularity as contemporary designers look to the past.
Mingle HDP is made in the USA and contains 40 percent recycled content which is third-party verified by the international Bureau Veritas, and it is certified GreenSquared by the TCNA. Mingle also is Porcelain Tile and GREENGUARD certified and suitable for all commercial and residential floor, wall and countertop applications.
