Decorating via Florida Tile’s new portfolio continues to take on new dimensions with the release of two new collections, one a High Definition Porcelain inspired by Turkish Travertine, the other a modern take on subway wall tile.
Paramount (HDP*) for walls and floors and Streamline wall tile was initially introduced as a “sneak peek” during the tile industry’s main event, Coverings in late April. Both are available immediately. (*High Definition Porcelain defines a revolutionary new product category utilizing technically advanced digital printing yielding the stunning look of real stone and the broadest possible product variation.)
According to Sean Cilona, Florida Tile’s marketing director, Paramount HDP is a Color Body (interior color closely matches the glaze) Porcelain Floor and Wall Tile. “One look will convince you that it was inspired by the travertine stone from the finest quarries of Turkey, right down to what is known as the bold trinity of popular and classic colors for this stone, Picasso, Argento and Antico. (See Florida Tile style colors, below.)
Florida Tile’s proprietary HDP technology renders a stunningly real look that has a depth and a sense of movement between colors though the surface has a smooth texture. A final roller application is the key to the ultimate look. “Not only does this create the dramatic effect of authenticity designers are looking for, it also contributes to slip resistance, making this product a great solution for residential as well as commercial applications” Cilona said.
Sizes are 12x12, 18x18 and 9x18. The new 9x18 updates the traditional rectangular wall tile format for which Florida Tile has long been known. According to Cilona, “The larger rectangular size adds a contemporary dimension of style while the Color Body Porcelain delivers quality and tremendous durability.”
Though created on a foundation of the three classic colors, tiles are created with virtually limitless graphic variation. The 12x12 and 9x18 are created in 240 different graphics, or 80 different graphics per color. The 18x18 format is comprised on 120 different graphics, 40 graphic options for each of the three colors. “It is truly remarkable that you can have a space up to 80 square feet and never repeat the same tile graphic. “said Cilona.
Customary with a premium tile and further extending the design range of the Paramount HDP line is a complete collection of finish options such as bullnose, chair rails, liners, listellos, and mosaics.
There are some notable accessories, however, including a 9x18 “cutout” tile which can accommodate a 2x9 listello for a striking, personal combination as well as a 9x9 brick pattern mosaic intended to bring depth to the wall tile.
Florida Tile PARAMOUNT HDP Colors:
The newest wall tile line from Florida Tile is Streamline, inspired by the classic 3x6 subway tile, this collection has been updated and features a modern twist.
“We have taken our most popular wall tile, Retroclassic, and given it a sleek, crisp edge to complement today’s hot trends in minimalist interior design,” says Cilona. “The tile has a smooth, flat surface with no texture, further contributing to the minimalist look.”
Each tile is created in a single punch, and even spacing is achieved via standard wall tile lugs. Application is commercial and residential wall and countertop.
Regarding colorways, Florida Tile drew from its best selling, classic wall colors and paired them with some contemporary updates, which include two current color trends, Gray and Taupe. “Plus, to add some decoration., we’ve added a contemporary update to the traditional leaf pattern for listellos, available in two sizes and two colors to coordinate with all 5 colors of field tile,” Cilona added.
“Furthermore, for a more traditional look we’ve included along with standard listellos a Jewel listello in all five colors plus Black. Combining with a chair rail delivers the classic installation design style.
Streamline also includes a complementary line of decorative pieces including chair rails, edger liners and listellos.
