The Florida Tile CARES initiative (Creating A Responsible Environmental Strategy) has put several programs into place to lessen our carbon footprint. Among these are continuos reductions in our waste stream that have lead us to resources both internal and externally. From partnerships with local and national non-profits to recycling in our production process to sourcing raw materails that contain recycled content, we areactively pursuing renewable resources on a daily basis. We are also proud to say that we have been recognized for these initiatives locally and nationally and we will continue to strive to improve by reducing, reusing and recycling.

With much of the consumer products industry catching on to the "Green" trend, Florida Tile wanted a way to differentiate and substanciate it's propriety process of suatainable manufacturing. Whether to meet the strict LEED or other building program requirements or reassure a homeowner weary of constant greenwashing claims from manufacturers, Florida Tile has gone to a third party to certify it's manufacturing process. Bureau Veritas, a world leader in conformity assessment and certification services, established 1828, was brought in to conduct a painstaking assessment of our claims.
After the process was complete, it was confirmed that all porcelain products made in the Lawrenceburg, KY factory contain at least 40% recycled content. This was a first for Florida Tile and the industry. No other domestic manufacturer can say all thier porcelain tile lines contain that amount of recycled material.
